Immediate Care Solutions is proud to be able to support the FAST campaign by issuing FAST material during sessions on the recognition and management of stroke.
The FAST test is designed to help us recognise the signs of a stroke and is being widely promoted on television, radio and posters across the UK.
A stroke is a disruption of blood flow to the brain either as a result of a clot or a bleed.
The FAST Test
F Facial Weakness; can the casualty smile? Has the casualty's mouth or eye drooped?
A Arm Weakness; can the casualty raise both arms?
S Speech; can the casualty speak clearly and understand what you say?
T Time to call 999
If a casualty has any of the above signs, call an ambulance immediately using 999. Prompt action may prevent futher damage to the brain and promote recovery.
