The Health and Safety (First Aid) regulations of 1981 require all employers to provide adequate and appropriate equipment, facilities and personnel to enable first aid to be given to employees if they become injured or ill at work. The EFAW course complies with Health and Safety Executive (H.S.E) regulations and enables delegates to be able to deal with a variety of emergencies in the workplace where a three day First Aid at Work qualification is not deemed necessary. At the end of the course delegates will receive a nationally recognised H.S.E. approved Emergency First Aid at Work certificate which is valid for three years and be able to respond to an accident or illness in the workplace safely and effectively. Each delegate will receive a first aid manual to work from which can be kept for future reference and there are plenty of opportunities to practice new skills under the supervision of the instructor. Although not mandatory, the H.S.E. strongly recommend that an update should be undertaken each year to help first aiders maintain their skills and keep abreast of any changes to first aid procedures. On the third year, this one day EFAW course will need to be undertaken again. Contact us for details of open courses in your area or visit our NEWS page for details of forthcoming courses. |
